Principal’s Message & Newsletter: February

Dear families,

With the first month after Christmas behind us, I would like to draw your attention to some interesting initiatives in the school. February will mark our “I Love to Read Month”. Hemmingford Elementary School is partnering with the library to organize a number of activities to inspire the youth of our village to read. Included in this is DEAR (drop everything and read), which is sustained silent reading that all of the students and staff will do everyday from 9:55-10:15. On Monday, January 30, I joined the 2-3 class in this adventure. Feel free to join in (if possible) and support our cause. There will be information about this coming home in the future.

As you can see from the list of upcoming events, February will be a busy month. Our activities are always supported by the Governing Board and PPO, who work hard to raise money for all the students. There are sign-up sheets if you are interested in getting involved and helping out.

Lastly, registration for the 2017-2018 school year will take place from February 14th to February 17th. I ask that you encourage interested parents to contact the school for a personalized tour.
