On Monday, October 31, there will be Halloween celebrations at Hemmingford Elementary School. The staff have worked very hard to organize a day of fun for the students. If your child(ren) will have a costume, we ask that they come to school dressed in the costume. As well, we ask that costumes do not promote violence. While travelling on the bus, students cannot wear their masks (should they have one) and are not permitted to eat food. Please remind your children of these rules.
One of the activities will involve students walking to the four corners to display their costumes. At 1:45, we will have a costume parade and dance in the gym. We would like to invite parents to come and see what the students have in store. To facilitate the transition of care and ensure safety of students, we ask that you put a note in the agenda in the morning if you plan on taking your child home so we can organize the departure.
On November 8 and 9, our students in grades 5 & 6 are travelling to Ottawa to take part in the We Day trip. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students. Because November 9 conflicted with Mad Science, we have made arrangements with the people at Mad Science to move the day from November 9 to November 30.
We hope that all the students have a wonderful time on Halloween this year!
