Principal’s Update & December Newsletter

Newsletter – 2017-12

Dear families,

Winter has now arrived and it is important that our students are well dressed for the cold. Please ensure that your children wear boots, snow pants, winter jacket, gloves, neck warmer, and tuque.

I would like to officially welcome Miss Kim (Kim Miller). Kim’s first day was December 4. You can reach her by e-mail at hemmingford@nfsb.qc.ca.

We have another new staff, Christina Chan, who will be working with students in grades 1 and 2. Miss Christina will be working on early literacy intervention.

The Christmas Concert is scheduled for December 20 @ 6:30 pm. Families are invited to see the dress rehearsal during the day at 10 am.

Families are also invited on December 21 @ 8:30 am when Mrs Ellerton will be distributing prizes for the Essay, Poem, and Poster contest.

Our Stars of the Week program has resumed. Each week, students who create a positive atmosphere are selected as Stars of the Week and receive a certificate.

We would like to thank the Governing Board and PPO for all their hard work. The parent volunteers have organized the apple drive in the fall and have already begun planning the Spaghetti Supper which is tentatively scheduled for March 24, 2018. To date, money raised by the PPO has helped support our Welcome Back BBQ, the trip to Sutton, our Christmas Lunch, the 1-2-3 Go Run, the Cross-Country Run, and others.

I would also like to than Tracy Boon. Tracy invested countless hours to set up our scholastic book fair. We would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and happy holidays!

Sincerely,

James Walker, principal
